Company Background
Relax Gaming was founded in 2010 and began by building poker technology, later adding bingo. It then expanded into distributing casino games from other studios, offering casinos access to a wide range of content through a single connection. In 2018, it started releasing its own slots.
Kindred Group, a gambling operator, was already Relax Gaming's largest shareholder when it agreed in 2021 to buy the remaining shares, in a deal valuing the business at up to €320 million. Kindred was later acquired by French lottery operator FDJ, and Relax now operates within the FDJ United group while keeping its own business-to-business identity.
What Relax Gaming Is Known For
High-Volatility Own Games
Relax's in-house slots, such as the Money Train games and Temple Tumble, are known for high volatility, big maximum wins and feature-heavy bonus rounds. See Slot Volatility Explained.
Dream Drop Jackpots
Dream Drop is Relax's multi-level progressive jackpot product, which can be added to supported games. A share of each bet on participating games funds the jackpots. See Progressive Jackpots Explained.
Partner Studio Programmes
Relax runs programmes that help smaller studios reach casinos. Through programmes such as Powered By Relax and Silver Bullet, external studios can use Relax's technology, licences and distribution network. This means a game may carry both a partner studio's name and the Relax name.
Aggregation
As an aggregator, Relax distributes games from many other studios through its platform. Casinos can connect once and offer a large library from multiple developers.
Poker and Bingo
Relax still supplies poker and bingo products, which were part of its business before it moved into slots.
Relax Gaming Games We Review
We do not currently review individual Relax Gaming games. Browse our Slot Game Reviews for games from other studios with similar styles, such as Wanted Dead or a Wild and Bonanza Megaways.
RTP and Volatility
Relax publishes RTP and volatility information for its games, and some games may be offered in more than one RTP version. Games linked to Dream Drop jackpots usually have a lower base-game return, because part of each bet funds the jackpots. Always check the RTP in the game's information screen. See Pokies RTP Explained.
Licensing and Testing
Relax holds licences or is regulated in several jurisdictions, including Great Britain, Malta, Gibraltar, Romania and Ontario, Canada. Its products are independently tested and certified. See Slot RNG Explained.
In Australia, it is illegal for companies to offer online casino games, including online pokies, to people in Australia under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
